Choice Obedience Training

Delve into understanding your dog's mind using balanced-positive based methods with

our trainer, Amber Sipes. She had been employed with the former Trillium Pet Care since

2006, acquiring 14+ years of experience in pet grooming and care. She has over 10 years of

experience as a canine obedience instructor and is a certified Canine Good Citizen (CGC)

evaluator with the AKC. Striving to be involved in the dog world as much as possible,

Amber has titled and trained dogs in multiple venues such as conformation, obedience,

barn hunt, coursing ability, search & rescue, Rally obedience, and therapy dog. She is

currently training and working with her personal dogs, Roman and Aquilla, both Doberman

Pinschers, and Vintage, Cliché, and Extra, all Standard Poodles, in agility, obedience,

conformation, agility, and scent work. She is also the proud owner of Vintage Country Pet

Resort.

We offer multiple forms of obedience, varying in age range and skill level including, but not limited to, canine socialization, puppy classes, basic obedience, advanced obedience, CGC testing, and may do behavior training on a case-by-case basis.

All Canine Good Citizen (CGC) and Trick Dog testing may be scheduled without attending the designated class by appointment only with a fee of $25.

Private Lessons

Approximately $60.00+ per hour.

Private lessons are by appointment only; please call and ask directly for Amber and fill out an application. Please either mail your application to our address or bring it in personally. Private lessons are reserved for dogs who are not able to attend classes due to behavioral or disruptive issues only.

Puppy Exposure Clinic

A puppy clinic all about exposure! In this hour-long class, you will be provided with a controlled, safe, and healthy environment to expose your puppy to new objects, scents, visual stimuli, noises, surfaces, etc in addition to a lecture regarding safe socialization and exposure for your puppy to grow into a stable adult.

This is not a formal training class.

AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy

This course focuses on teaching you the basics of dog obedience, alongside focusing on human and dog socialization while following AKC's S.T.A.R. Puppy test with your puppy. Earn your AKC S.T.A.R. puppy achievement when you graduate!

Trick Dog Novice

This course focuses on preparing your dog for their trick dog novice title (TKN) - or just have fun teaching your pup some tricks! Trick dog testing will be available on the last day of the course.

Advanced Obedience I & Canine Good Citizen Test

This course challenges and furthers you and your dog's obedience training while also preparing you to complete a Canine Good Citizen test.

You must have already completed our Lifestyle Obedience course or something equivalent before you are eligible for our Advanced Obedience course.

Rally Novice

This course focuses on teaching you the basics of novice rally obedience. Perfect your heeling, learn and practice signs, and improve your bond with your dog through the fun of rally! Your dog must have completed a basic obedience class or have a similar skill level to attend this class.

Scent Work

This course teaches your dog the basics of using his nose to find specific scents such as birch, anise, or clove following the AKC Scent Work guidelines. Scent work is great for providing mental stimulation as well as tiring your dog out. It's pretty amazing to watch them work!

Recall + Focus

This course is all about building a solid relationship with your dog. Does your dog choose other dogs or their environment over you? Take back your dog's attention from their surroundings by using positive engagement.

Agility

This class focuses on teaching you the basics of agility. Participants will learn basic handling, jump skills, handler focus vs obstacle focus, toy skills, and the basics of each obstacle. Learn to become a great agility handler and trainer and HAVE FUN WITH YOUR DOG!
